Omega-Zed
Slaver

“Omega-Zed” is a salvaged and rebuilt Lelantos-Omega class ship; originally designed for the ConFederation military but now used by slavers to hunt and transport anyone unlucky enough to cross their path. The original Omega is a variant of the Lelantos-Alpha first seen in the “Talon” issue of Future Armada. The Omega is a wingless version designed as a mobile command & control center. It has some specialized facilities and multi-purpose dormitory rooms that also allow it to function as a medical unit, troop transport, or detention center as needed. Full-sized maps for the clean, pre-salvaged Lelantos-Omega C&C ship are included.

Omega-Zed is the result of gutting and rebuilding one of these command and control ships to serve as a slave transport. It carries a crew of 13 or more and has cells for 20 or more hapless souls, plus a sizable arena, kennels, and interrogation chamber. The entire craft is filthy and poorly maintained - home to outlaws and miscreants of the worst sort. The Omega-Zed map could also be used as the ship of common raiders or a post-apocalyptic troop transport. But unless you have one of those sort of groups, it’s probably best employed as an enemy lair (either to infiltrate or escape from) rather than a base of operations.

The Omega-Zed package contains four highly detailed, layered PDF files:
• Main Book
    - 18 page PDF file detailing the ship and interior areas, plus an overview of the C&C version.
    - Contains 3D rendered scenes as well as orthographic views of the ships.
    - Includes system independent statistics designed for easy adaptation to your game of choice.
    - Background, art, and text are on different layers for custom display and printing.

• Map Pages
    - 25 page PDF file containing complete interior maps and instructions for assembly.
    - There are 9 pages of maps for Omega-Zed and 9 more for the Omega-C&C version.
    - Miniature-scale maps for tactical combat with an optional 1 inch = 5 ft grid.
    - Divided into pages for easy printing in full color or printer-friendly black and white.
    - Selectable layers include grid, black & white version, and optional objects.

• Uncut Map Images
    - Two single page PDF files containing 27x32 inch images of the complete deckplans.
    - Select either a light or dark background (for printing or projection/display).
    - Includes layers for grid, black & white version, optional cargo, and background choice.

Sample document and art are available at 0-hr.com

The fifth in the “Refit” series of Armada Codex, Omega-Zed is derived from the bounty hunter Talon first presented in issue #16 of Future Armada. Thank you for taking the time to consider this product - I hope that it can be of service to you and your campaign!

Though it is purposefully vague, there is some information on my website if you look under "Armada Overview" and then hit the "Setting" link near the bottom of that page. ( https://0-hr.com/Future_Armada/Setting.htm ) It was written several years ago, but it should still be generally relevant.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
