Hi Michael, if you send me your email to blueboxerrebellion@gmail.com, I will try sending you a clean copy of the core book and monster book. Can I ask, did you pick these up during the giveaway or did you pay? I'm wondering if that had anything to do with it.

Is there a way to remove the password protection so that I can print these?

Hi Michael,
Printing is not disabled for any of my titles on DTRPG -- I just double-checked. I'm not sure why you can't print them. I will look into it. Is it just the core rule book or are there other titles too?

Some thoughts on character types!

Bard (excellent Talk; musical powers; knows lots of legends and stories)
Pirate (Sneak, Shoot, Make; good with ropes; pet rat, parrot, or monkey)
Clockwork Robot (can collect and swap around modular body parts)
Swashbuckler (Battle and Talk; makes clever quips while fighting that affect the enemy)
Half-Giant (Norse kind, with blue skin and horns/antlers; Battle, Muscle, Magic; cold-related powers; good choice for female character)
Faun (goat-legged humanoid; can force foes to dance; wildernessy abilities; alternative to Bard?)

Bard, pirate, swashbuckler, and faun were on my short list too. All good ideas! Might be a little while -- I'm working on my next RPG, Rock Opera '79, at the moment.

Sorry Casey, PDF only at this point. I used print1.com to print my own hard copy and it came out looking nice, in a coil-bound edition.

It's cool. Just may need to buy some more ink if I print it! Thanks for the reply.

Hi. I just found this rpg and it does look great. Can you make your own characters from scratch as well? I don't mind the classes or race sheets at all. I just want to know if there is any customization to your character or do you start off with the stats without rolling. From what I see you do add new abilities as you go. Are there enough to keep an ongoing campaign with the characters developing?

Even if you can't this looks like I could get my family to play with the pre-made characters easily. I've been searching for a game like this. The layout of the book is really well done.

Hi Paul,
Thanks so much for taking the time to post. I posted rules on my blog for making characters from scratch a while ago. You can find it here: http://blueboxerrebellion.blogspot.com/2014/07/random-character-generation-in.html. Long story short, roll 10 dice for each action (Battle, Magic, Make, Muscle, etc.) and write down the successes as the character's score in that action. Then choose a hero class.
I have yet to run into any problems keeping a campaign going. It seems to scale very well.

Thanks for the response. The method you have posted would be a great way of doing it. I've been looking at a lot of rpg games and yours jumped out at me. Really like the look and feel of the book from the preview. Nice job on it. I'm definitely considering picking this up. Certain things I've read on your blog about the game have impressed me too.

Hi Douglas. I picked up the bundle. About to read it on my iPad. Looking forward to playing it with my family this weekend. I might even work on some monsters or classes of my own as I am an illustrator and graphic artist also. If I think of any questions I'll post.

Really good job of layout to explain the game in the main book. So simple and effective.

Thanks again,
Paul

From what I can see in the Preview of DungeonTeller, it looks great. Now my hopes are that someday there will be a solo version for old people like me to enjoy.

Hi Gary,

I've always wanted to do a solo dungeon exploring game! I'll get on that. In the meantime, buy Dungeonteller early and often.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
