The sky burns with shooting stars. When some of them hit the ground, the very earth trembles -- and horrifying new creatures and magic arise.

Shake up Your Campaign!

This event book serves as a guide for DMs and players whose world is struck, and struck hard, by a meteor. Following the model of the popular event book Requiem for a God, D&D Epic Level Handbook designer Bruce Cordell brings you When the Sky Falls.

This book presents a variety of new prestige classes for characters close to ground zero, a variant magic system powered by residual meteor fragments, and many new feats and spells. When the Sky Falls also describes frightening new monsters -- creatures twisted by their proximity to the Afterfall.

For printing and navigation tips, be sure to read the readme file.

"When the Sky Falls" is an event book which introduces the falling of a meteorite into a fantasy setting as well as the aftermath, or "Afterfall." The book covers three types of meteorites and how to best introduce them into your ca [...]

I found this sourcebook really cool. The content about adding a major destructive event, such as a meteorite impact, to your campaign world is useful for anyone who wants to run or play in an epic campaign (I don't mean epic-level, I just mean epic coo [...]

I greatly enjoyed this book. It takes an unused topic (a meteor strike from outer space) and does some interesting and fun things with it. The organization of the material in the book is well thought out. The discussion of the natural effects o [...]

WtSF is perhaps the single finest 3.5 supplement I have purchased. As an event-book, it offers a great depth of content and breadth of view regarding the GM's chosen version of a celestial impact, while providing some truly innovative PrCs and c [...]

As PDF: Good quality. Typical of Malhavoc products there is a clean design with much white-space, making it fast to read and easy on the toner to print. As a supplement: Of reasonable interest. Covers the events surrounding a 'skyfall' (i [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
