12 Castles & Keeps Maps Set

What is a King without a Kingdom? What is Kingdom without a Castle?

At the end of a lonely road stands a mighty castle silently waiting to be explored by brave adventurers. Are the occupants friendly, hostile or shy? Will they lower the drawbridge as you approach and greet you with open arms? Or will they cry "HAVOC", and let slip the dogs of war as they rain showers of arrows upon your heads from those tall and foreboding towers?

The Castle and Keeps Map Set, contains 12 highly detailed floor plans of castles and keeps which may be printed onto paper or durable heavy card stock by the user of this map set as often as desired for personal/game group use.  Book marked in easy to use PDF format. You will be able to quickly scan each castle's fortifications - easily viewing its towers, moats, catapults and other battlements. At a glance you will be able to see various buildings including inns, shops, temples, and guardhouses. Written descriptions become optional, since you can easily see, and thus describe what is in each and every building. With a glance you will be able to describe to your friends/players what they see, and where they see it, including such things as beds, tables, chairs, fireplaces, statues, thrones and of course, the most important thing, TREASURE chests!  As for the race, class, gender and disposition of the occupants inside, that is for you as DM to decide. You can tailor each castle and it occupants to suit your own world and/or campaign. These castles can be used as dungeons to challenge adventurers, or you may choose to incorporate them into your NPC world and give your adventurers a place to rest, recover and train after their battles. Of course, should an adventurer choose to build a keep, or perhaps win one in a card game, you will instantly have one to give them. Some castles are named, others are not, they all can easily be incorporated into your existing campaign, or used as stand alone encounters.

This set includes a Port City, an Under-Mountain City, and a Mountain-Top City, a Lake City, a Wizard's Hold, a Holy Fortress, and several other castles and keeps of various sizes and character.

This is a SSD universal map set and is suitable for use with any fantasy role-playing game system that uses medieval style buildings for structures. However you choose to use The Castle and Keeps Map Set - it is likely to provide you and your players with Hours of Entertainment, and SAVE you hours of tedious map making. You can spend the extra time you save focusing on the more enjoyable aspects of fantasy role-playing, such as actually PLAYING the game. :)

A SPECIAL bonus has been included with the Set. A variety of tools useful for fleshing out a City. Bonus material includes. Random city events both general and specific. Random Laws, and punishments. Plus a random list of (100) NPC personalities. Both a B&W and a Color Regional Map. And finally an A-Z list of stores and the items they stock. Use them as you see fit.  Enjoy!

I came, I saw, I conquered! 12 nicely detailed B&W castles. More than mere castles really - they are part of an empire that will soon be part of MY world. (World domination, got love it!) This set comes with some interesting bonus material too. Stu [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
