T2000 v2 East Africa Sourcebook

Watermarked PDF

From the deserts of Somalia to the Serengeti of northern Tanzania, the waters of the Indian Ocean to the jungles of the Congo, the East African/Kenya Sourcebook, the first new work for Twilight 2000 since 1995, shines a light on an area hinted at in previous works but never before detailed, where what is left of civilization in Africa struggles against the Somali Islamists, the PARA, the LRA and desperate pirates whose only mission is to take what they can from what still stands.

East Africa Sourcebook contains a detailed order of battle for the American, French and Rwandan forces in the area as well as for their foes. A timeline is provided that shows how WWIII came to Africa, including the nuclear strikes that devastated much of the refinery production in Africa, leaving the refinery in Mombasa as the only hope for the Americans to provide the fuel that keeps CENTCOM supplied in their continuing fight with the Soviets in Iran. The continuing struggle of the French to build a new Empire from the ruins of Africa come alive in the Sourcebook,  detailing their triumphs and missteps, including how they assisted the LRA to power in Uganda.

For those looking for new challenges and new adventures, the East African/Kenya Sourcebook provides them in spades offering everything from fighting a military campaign against the PARA and the Somalis, to convoy escort duty against pirates, to deep patrols trying to destroy terrorist bases or to find useable aircraft and supplies to keep AFRICOM going now that no more will be forthcoming from the United States.  For those who wish to be mercenaries, either in the employ of others or building their own “kingdoms” in the ruins of Africa, there are opportunities a plenty.

FYI - if you want to give my sourcebook a one star rating you could at least comment and tell me what you feel needs to be improved about it - since its a pdf and you paid for it that means I might be able to improve it and thus give you a better buy for your money if I choose to correct what you say is wrong with it

Just wanted to say thank you to all of you who have bought the Sourcebook so far - very gratifying and humbling to see that it is already up to a Best Silver Seller in just under a month since it was officially introduced.

Nice, hopefully we get more material. What timeline line is this following? A physical version would be awesome so I can add to my collection. I will be on the lookout for more. Thanks FFE

Its written so it could be used for either timeline - I had the Soviets re-entering Africa in 1991 after pulling back in 1988 because of economic issues - which would work with either timeline. I referred to multiple V1 events as well including references to events from other V1 modules - RDF, Gateway to the Spanish Main, Going Home just to name a few - blending in real world events as well like the Rwandan genocide and the Great War of Africa as well as information that Frank Frey had posted on his proposed version V1 module on Kenya that was never released - and you can see V1 touches like PST:95 for skill with a pistol or the adjustments for Special Forces personnel that were in the RDF module

Hello everyone - it can be used for both versions - the timeline has events in it from the original V1 books (the Cuban withdrawal from Angola, the arrival of the French GOLE in Djibouti from the RDF, etc..) so you can use it for either version if you desire (if you are looking you can see other V1 references - i.e. Lt. Colonel Thomas's skill with the pistol (PST:95) instead of saying he had a skill level of 10 in Small Arms (Pistol), the Demolition rules and Special forces mods that are in the V1 RDF module). I put the Buford into the game from V2 instead of the LAV-75 because I see it as a better vehicle and I did add real world African events as well - hope you enjoy the final version not matter what version of the game that you play

Any chance of releasing this for T2k v1? I still prefer v1 to v2.

Totally agree. T2Kv1 went from being a full out blast with simple rule set to T2kv2's quagmire.
My players of v1 would not play v2. It was just not as enjoyable.

Yes! But also wanting a V1

Let me second that. The v1 timeline is great Cold War alternative fiction, while v2 is a jumbled mess that borders on ludicrous. Please do a v1.

Another vote for a v1 version.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
