It all started with a typo my friend Mitch made while were setting up an upcoming Gamma World adventure on Facebook. Gramma World created a few chuckles and seemed to have run its course except that it kept striking me as funny. A few times a day I would think about it and finally I drew a few pictures of sassy grammas and thought, “this game MUST exist!” As a parody inspired by a gonzo post apocalyptic adventure I couldn’t resist creating a setting of elderly people trapped in a world they never made. The dungeon crawl explorations and strange familiarity of the mutants of Gamma World fit nicely with this conceit. When asked to describe the influences and flavour of this game I would consider it an amalgam of Scooby Doo Mysteries meeting the Golden Girls.

Compatible with Swords and Wizardry Whitebox and all other versions of the original game.

For $6 I was like "why not?"

I'm laughing while reading it and my gf is sitting next to me asking me what is so funny.

Playing with friends (age range of 40 to about 60), we had a blast and played it up good. Going to be running the same adventure I ran at a convention in Nov.

The group I ran it for as a one shot (one person was new to RPGs) have asked me a few times to come up with another adventure. My gf might be cheesed off but good excuse to run a few games while she is taking saturday classes at college.

Usually playing/running a humorous RPG can be harder than a dark and gritty game.... not so with GW.

Also hard to pull off a setting where you can have it be a funny but semi-realistic (say Scooby Doo) all the way to gonzo off the wall (akin to a senior citizen Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas).

lol, I remember seeing the same "Gramma World" joke being made on a BlameSociety YouTube live play of Gamma World a few years ago.

Oh, that's awesome! I missed that. It took a bit more work to make this than I thought, but worth it for the LOLs.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
