The purpose of this book is not to give an exhaustive history and rule set for simulating every aspect of guild structure in a fantasy campaign; rather it is to provide details on the some of the organizational features of artisan guilds, as well as game-specific information that can be utilized in creating a richer and more fully developed campaign world for the characters adventuring within it.
Artisan guilds, also known as craft guilds, are associations of raftsmen who join together for mutual benefit. These associations give their members greater control over the quality, material, and ricing standards of their practice, as well as greater influence within the social and political structure of their local community.
