Fantasy Classes: The Exhibitionist

Fantasy Classes: The Exhibitionist

ZIP File

Perhaps more flamboyant than the displays of the adventuring bard though lacking the bard's usefulness, exhibitionists are a common entertainment spectacle to be found on the crowded streets of urban environments. From sword swallowing to fortune reading, to juggling or even the offerings of poetry, and simple theatre the donations that provide exhibitionists their bread and butter come from the art of delivering cheap but profitable entertainment. These individuals may be found in any form and on any given street where the bustle of passing activity offers a hope of coinage. Puppeteers or handlers of small trained animals might stake out the chance of entertaining curious children and their parents while exotic dancers, teary eyed poets, and bold fire eaters cater to the interests of the grown ups. As the business of entertainment becomes distracted by the presence of competition more enterprising exhibitionists may be in cahoots with an assortment of common street rabble or even rogues in an attempt to secure exclusive areas for their open, public displays. Exhibitionists likewise do not have to necessarily be involved in a business that one would immediately see as being ?entertainment?. Exhibitionists who con coinage out of the passers by through the preaching of false, fabricated religions or half written, wild eyed philosophies can also earn their living in a manner that is much truly similar to their more entertaining counterparts.

This fantasy class is most suitable for the various entertainment orientated NPCs of your urban environments.

This new NPC class is brief, fitting the existing examples, but interesting in concept and includes a new class ability that enhances the NPC's mundane role, rather than adventuring effectiveness. A small world-building addition of good value. [...]

A bard-variant for d20/3.x type games. The file is 4 pages long, but 2 of that is the OGL and the rest amounts to 1 page of text and a table. Not enough here to really make a class. No new feats or new uses for skills and no pre-generated character. [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
