In Soth, you play cultists in a small-town, trying to summon a dark god. If you complete three more rituals, Soth will rise. But can you conceal your murderous crimes from family and friends?

Soth is a mix between Breaking Bad and the stories of H.P. Lovecraft.

It’s a noir thriller that uses a diceless system to evaluate how suspicious the cultists are being. You then spend 'Suspicion' to put the cultists under pressure.

Duration: 1-3 sessions
Players: 3-7
Ages: 16+
System: diceless, low-prep, low-complexity

What people have said

"Soth captures the essentials of committing ritualistic murders to summon a dark god that will destroy humanity, but in a way that's hilarious, murderous fun. I'm excited to play it again!"
Mike Sands, author of Monster of the Week

"This is such a wonderful, innovative game, that takes the staple premise of most modern horror roleplaying games and subverts it wickedly. I can't wait to play it - all hail Soth!"
— Andrew KenrickDead of Night

"Soth is a fun and creepy game that rewards clever play and smart problem solving. In a lot of ways it’s like a game of Fiasco, except that the players are all genuinely trying to make things work, so when they don't—when things go terribly wrong for the cultists in entirely predictable ways—it's all the more brutal and hilarious.
— Simon CarryerOn Mighty Thews, Nod

"The guy who wrote the book on GMing My Life with Master delivers aFiasco-esque tale of Lovecraftian cult life in Middle America. Soth is coming for you!"
— Jonathan WaltonGeiger Counter, Restless, Planarch Codex

"I really like all the elements that point back to the mundane lives of the cultists. That helps keep the game from being an exercise in one-upping each other to see who can be the most depraved. I also like that (in general) the moves allow the cultists to actually be competent in their dark dealings. We aren't laughing at their hijinks: they're really f**king serious about this."
— Jesse Burneko, from his 2013 Game Chef review

"This is a wonderfully crafted game. It's a huge joy to run. Sessions can cover the gamut from dark comedy to thought-provoking and harrowing, but it's always enjoyable."
— Angus Dingwall, playtester

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
