Winter Eternal

Winter Eternal is not a post apocalyptic setting. It's about what comes after the disaster, many years later when civilization is starting to thrive again.

When the sun exploded, the continent of Ehlerrac survived the wave of flames because it was on the night side of the planet. Then the earthquakes and tsunamis hit and thousands died as cities fell and the landscape were torn apart. The dark world started cooling rapidly and the survivors struggled to find food and shelter.

A group of Nature Wardens started camps and used their magic to grow food.  People of many different races came stumbling out of the darkness into these camps, grateful for the protection.

Now, hundreds of years later, the 6 camps are giant, cramped cities, heated and lit by magic. Two cities are underground and one is build on the inside edges of a chasm. The cities are now connected by enclosed roads called Archways and travel is now much safer.

A few years ago explorers came upon orange crystals in an old crater. When light shone on the crystals, it generated a massive amount of heat. Artificers are now using these "sunshards" to help Ehlerrac to take it's first tentative steps into an industrial and steam age.

This is an exciting time on Ehlerrac and its up to Savage worlds game groups to tell the stories of this dark, cold , but not dead world.

Hey guys. The hard-cover is live and it looks beautiful.
The soft cover will be live in a short while. All books must migrate to a thicker cover paper and I am working on it.

Definitely! I had to redo the layout for letter size, but that is done. The Adventure guide took a bit of my time, but the layout for the 1st book is also done. I will see to it that I get the hardcover finished an live on the site.

*Update*
Hi. Just wanted to let everyone know. The submitted hardcover/premium files have been approved by the printers. Now I have to print a test copy. Problem is that shipping to South Africa takes 6 to 7 weeks. We are also saving our sale income for a very cool piece of art for the adventure guide. As soon as that is done, I will print a copy. :)

If I understand the process correctly, it depends where you ship it too, so it can be from the US or UK.

Any chance we'll see GM screen inserts or a character sheet made specifically for this setting, please?

Hi Matt
That is a great idea. We are finishing up the first adventure guide and then comes the large map pack for Winter Eternal, but then this is something to look into. The wasteland adventure guide already comes with a few nice tables that would work on a GM screen. I will keep you guys updated when this will happen.

There is a sheet in the back of the book your are welcome to print and our website also has the file. But maybe a few different types of sheets might be fin to make. I will see what I can do.

Ah! I'd somehow scrolled right past the character sheet in the book! Thanks for mentioning that it was on the website, however. Very much looking forward to the adventure guide!

When I go to download the updated copy of the PDF, it gives me two options, (Winter_Eternal_20150718.pdf) and
(Winter_Eternal___20160222.pdf) I've done a quick scan through both of them, and I can't easily see the difference. Which one is the most recent updated one?

Hi. :)
I deleted the older file, it's not supposed to show anything else than the newest file. But I will go check it out.
The newest file has the date 2016-02-22 after the name. The only obvious change should be distances in the Archway section will all be in foot now. Let me know if you are still having problems.

Hi. For those reading the reviews, I want to give a small update. After mentions of the editing and the artwork for the backer cards, I've been working hard to correct these areas. The book has gone through another editing process and the backer art are now black and white hand drawn sketches. I've gotten some nice compliments from backers and buyers, so have a look if you are interested.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
