The physical book is available from Fantasy flight games.

It's still available on amazon.com but getting harder to find.

For a 144 pages long pdf... Fairly expensive I would say.

For the core rules to a whole new RPG IP? Seems about par to me.

For $20 each for each book that has the same ruleset in each book, just different setting? That is expensive for a PDF.

It's Fantasy Flight. They make good products but they love to nickel and dime, or hook you for multiple purchases per product line.

Don't buy it then. Is this really a useful comment for anyone else?

Its letting people know that they think is overpriced. That is constructive criticism. You dont have to agree with it. The same rules are repeated in every book, only the setting is different. FF games are on the high side.

I bought both. The pdf has only been available for a couple of days. they have had the spot for end of the world for quite a while now on here but it was empty until recently.

It's specified in the book that you don't need to include anything that would interfere too much with your enjoyment of the game.

I haven't read the book yet, but I can't see how they'd "enforce" it. I think the takeaway is that you're a real person, and to expect the game to deal with that information in real-ish terms. "I'm playing myself. I just so happen to be a 5'4" Korean-American electrician from Philly today. Let's go."

While the games main premise is you play as yourselves you absolutely do not have to. Want to make a Navy seal, scientist or anything you want go ahead. They do recommend that if one is playing a fictional character that either all the players do the same or agree on allowing it for one or two.

I for one enjoy the premise. All my players made characters based on their current selves except one who made himself as he thought he was 20 years ago.

One thing also to keep in mind is you make a character based on your current self. In game you take up shooting or are getting exercise by running away so much and not always having food on hand you could translate that into features to improve your character.

People who have allergies well they are screwed ;). I would have to find out about how those affect you to properly judge how to run it. I don't have anyone who truly has many issues like that, mostly just glasses and the fact they can't see without them.

I second this. Ran my first session this past weekend and it was a blast, the GM was the first to go getting mauled by a zombie dog, the players actually rushed me to the hospital but then I succumbed to my wounds a hour or two later and died and then proceeded to attack the doctors/nurses (while the doctor/nurse was informing one of the players that I didn't make it). We are only roughly 8 hours into the Apocalypse (Night of the Meteor) and the players have raided a grocery store for food, basic medication, collected a bunch of weapons (one of my players was a hunter and collector of swords) and they have a temporary shelter while they wind down off the adrenaline and try to figure out their next move.

You're selling me; how's the editing, usual FFG first print (in the hard back)? Or, will the errata be as many pages as the book and is the character sheet garbage (like the ink waster 40,000 Deathwatch one)?

I only have the star wars books so i don't know how the other lines are for quality in that respect. I do find that this system leaves a lot to the gm for interpretation. In some ways that is nice but in a lot of ways it's leading to just more questions. i didn't have any issues printing off the character sheet but i got the one on the website not from this pdf.
