Space Station 10 - Command
Section #01
Deckplans / RPG Battle Maps

Each Space Station 10 map is a section of an orbital Space Station having a variable diameter - up to 1740 feet (about 530 meters). Use one or two maps for a quick battle, or splice together several sections to build a fully operational station! Mix and match sections to form your own style of space station. A starting space station (with most of the ring under construction) can be as small as three sections: Command, Docking Bay, and Quarters.

Each section book also includes two bonus sections - one construction tunnel link, and a blank section you can use as you like.

Design: Space Station 10 is ring-shaped to accomodate it's modular sections. Its shape provides some defensive cover for smaller ships docked inside the ring. In hostile areas, it is best to have a Security & Defense section next to Docking Bays and Command sections.

Scale: Each map is 20 x 12 squares 5 feet across. Scaled at about 1 to 0.75 inches per 5 feet (varying slightly due to the arc shape of a section) which fits a section onto two 8.5 x 11 inch pages. It should be adaptable to most battle systems featuring a scale of 1 inch per 5 feet.

Other Details: Many systems in a section may not be visible on the maps, since they would be installed above the ceiling or below the flooring. These systems include the obvious things like plumbing, electrical, and ventilation, but also common things already on some maps, like emergency escape pods and crew quarters.

Resolution: 300 dpi full color.

It looks nice but there's one problem I can see with it: It needs a central ring/corridor of some kind so that people traversing from one part of the station to another don't go traipsing right through the middle of the "bridge" or whatever.

They could have a problem doing that if you have a Security section connected to the bridge. You can also just lock the doors... :D
Another option is to assume the big doors between sections lead to corridors that go around the inner half of the sections.

I love the Space Station 10 files, was just wondering if you are ever going to expand on it, you mentioned that that it takes Medical and Recreation sections to make an entire ring, but as far as i can tell you have never released PDF's for those. Another nice addition might be miscellaneous cargo and furnishings PDF.

This is great, I am using this as the base for a space based adventure, was wondering if you planned on designing more ring sections in the future, would love to see the medical bay and recreation area ones and maybe an actual shuttle bay for doing repairs in or even a fighter bay.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
