Coils of the Corruptor

From the Umbral realm of Malfeas to the boardrooms of Pentex and its subsidiaries, minions of the Wyrm plot to kill Gaia. Warped fomori, monstrous Banes, and Wyrm-tainted shapeshifters lash out at the world with acidic claws. The Maeljin Incarna steals the easily forgotten, ignored, or missed to populate their perverse realms. Factories belch smoke that blackens the sky, and toxic waste floods into rivers and seas. The heads of the Hydra see what they have done to the world and know that it is good.

Strangling the World

Once long ago, the Wyrm was an agent of Balance. Now, strangled by the Weaver’s webs, it strikes out in madness and pain. If it can poison the world, sow cancer and disease throughout all that is, it might finally be free.

Book of the Wyrm contains:

  • All-new lore and background on the corrupting Wyrm.
  • Information on the Wyrm’s minions, from fomori to Skull Pigs to Chulorviah.
  • An in-depth look at the Black Spiral Dancers, twisted mockeries of Garou.

Note on the Print Editions: Standard Color uses a thinner paper stock than Premium Color, basically the same paper as the Black & White books. This usually means the colors are less vivid, but it also means the price drops a bit per page in the production process. Examples of pages: Premium Color vs. Standard Color.

What's the difference between Standard and Premium Heavyweight?

The quality and amount of toner they use. The Premium books have brighter, stronger colors than the Standard. By contrast, Standard tends to be a bit washed out and sometimes has a few print lines in the art, stuff like that.

Just want to chime in to say if you're an art buff the Premium is so worth the extra $$$. I have the main sourcebook and Rage Across the World in the Premium version and I am stunned by how gorgeous the full-color art looks on that paper.

I already have the original book of the Wyrm, the one that came out years ago. Is it worth buying this version? Is the material mostly new or is it a rehash of already published material?

Well I never got the previous version so I couldn't say. But there is plenty of new or updated material in there and from what I've heard from people who do have one of the two previous versions of the Book of the Wyrm, this definitely worth getting.

I have all versions of the Book, and I have to say this is far and away the best. It does rehash some things, but mostly it brings the servants of the Wyrm into the 21st century. There is more detail than ever before, new foes, and excellent art work. Well worth the purchase.

Makes me think of Subsidiaries from the Old Word of Darkness. Loved the expansion on the products. Could fell a whole book with more.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
