“…at the dawn of the Age of Gorgons, the great continent was torn asunder and in place of its once earthy heart was naught but the endless sea. There arose Men, the grand-children of the gods, and Fate would set their hands to many great and terrible things..."

Step into a world of heroic sword-and-sorcery, a realm that never was but
always should have been. Here there are barbarous warriors, grim knights,
remorseless mercenaries, daring thieves, mysterious priests, power-hungry
sorcerers, and corrupt nobles. Darker things, too, tread the world,
gorgons and demons and the last of the great dragons.

Will you have the courage and cunning to stand against the darkness?

Create virtually any hero you can imagine within
the context of an inspiring and detailed setting.
The single-die game mechanic allows for swifter
and more visceral game-play, enabling players and
game-masters to focus more on narrative storytelling.
Build your hero today and start exploring
the Savage Kingdoms!

I was involved with the Kickstarter for this product and I am impressed with the world described within it. Gritty sword and sorcery game which reminds me of how I felt the first time I played Earthdawn back in 1992. The game mechanics also neatly avoid many of the problems found in the d20 'classed' games from my perspective. While there are a few typos here and there, I do enjoy the written history of the world, which often reminds me of the Norse saga. I do find the American colloquialisms slightly jarring at times (I am Australian). The game shows real promise IMHO. : ) Unfortunately I cannot review, as my PDF was sent to me directly.

Good take on a more Gritty style of sword and sorcery game. There is a huge amount of product in this book. You will be reading for days ! I have a full review over on my blog at RPGrunkleplaysgame. It was worth it.

So very glad you took a good look at it, Shane, and seemed to appreciate and enjoy it. Please help spread the word - great system, great setting (if I might say so myself. ;)). Thanks again!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
