WOLVES of ALBION

The second chapter in the 0 hr Armada Codex line, this issue presents a detailed description, complete deckplans, and high quality renderings for a medium size war ship and its variants. This product is designed to give you a set of ready-made ships to plug into your setting and rules of choice - lending depth and detail to your campaign. Though a sample background is provided, it is separate from the suggested statistics, deck plans, and location descriptions. Use what you want and change what you like. The goal is to provide a complete package, but one that can be easily broken into its constituent parts as needed. When it’s time to play, zero hour is ready.

Wolves Art

Constructed by the Sol Autocracy at the renown New Albion Shipyards, this cadre of a dozen war ships was the core of a bold offensive launched against the Theocracy of Terra Nova. Of the twelve vessels, half are full blooded ships of the line – armed with heavy anti-ship cannons as well as a full suite of missiles, rockets, and point defense guns. Four others use a variant hull design built for speed and stealth, while the final two are relegated to support and diplomatic roles. Mourning Wolf serves as the archetype for the war ships. Shadow Wolf is the first of the stealth/recon variants, and Winter Wolf  is one of the support ships (though still a capable fighter as it is essentially the base warship design minus the massive anti-ship cannons). All three are fully detailed and illustrated in this chapter of the Codex.

The Wolves of Albion package contains four highly detailed, layered PDF files:

Where are the uncut JPGs? Every other ship I've bought from this publisher has had them, but this model only has uncut PDFs. Unfortunately, I can't put PDFs into my VTT program. I even bought the poster maps, thinking that the uncut JPGs might be there, like they were for the Cervantes, but the poster map for this product was cut up and unusable! (it was pretty, though). Anyway, I'd rate this five stars, if I could use it in my online game.

Sorry about the b*****ness,

I've updated the "Wolves of Albion" Armada Codex issue to include big JPEG images of the ship(s). I had them made already, so I think I just forgot to upload them when I created the product here. Sorry for the confusion.

I've also added those same JPEG images to the digital poster product. Not all of the digital posters include maps on a plain background. It's something I'm adding retroactively as time allows, so check the product descriptions individually for those.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
