Scenario 2 - Mall Run

It seemed like an easy job.

Go to the map co-ordinates, find the entrance to the buried shopping mall. Gather a few useful resources for the survivors back on the edge of town.

It had been years since the last time someone had returned from a trip to the shopping mall, but the last foraging party declared it to be “safe”; they’d even come back with canned goods in an edible condition. So a few of you decided to try your luck. It obviously wasn’t as safe as you’d been led to believe.

The first giveaway was the sounds of small debris landslides, the second was the absolute silence punctuated by echoing unearthly birdcalls. On edge, you found the entrance to the old mall. Rushing through the door, you don’t know if a booby trap was activated, a remote detonation, or something more sinister.

The entrance into the mall collapses; rusted metal, shattered glass, crumbling concrete and splintered wood. Through the rubble, you hear the faint echoes of the birdcalls, a counterpoint to the howls of predators that may or may not be human.

There is an exit at the far end of the mall, and that is your only escape. But while you’re in here, you might as well grab as much as you can.  

Ghost City Raiders is a game for two or more players using the Pocketmod format. Eight tiny pages describe everything you need to know in order to play the game. Each player gets an eight page booklet that describes their character, and the ways the rules change for them. The specific stories are told in the form of eight page scenario booklets.
