(Low Life) The Whole Hole - A Gadabout's Guide to Mutha Oith - Volume 01: Keister Island

Tash Shardborn has this to say:

“In a very real sense, the Keister is the island. But in an equally, and more accurately, real sense the island is the island. Witness the cosmopolitan jumble of Floom, the aromatic mysticisms of the Garden of Smellemental Glee, the monumental juts and caverns of the Knobby Rumple...  Behold dank rites and unspeakable atrocities as you scramble your way through the lichenous strew of Stan’s Rug. Prance the loamy frolic of the Soul Patch. Wallow in the ichorous murk of the Imple Slew. Wonder what all those statues are about. Do some other stuff. Try not to get eaten.”

The Whole Hole - A Gadabout’s Guide to Mutha Oith, Volume 01: Keister Island is the first in a series of guidebooks (that’s what “Volume 01” means) designed to immerse the reader within and among the places, peeps, beasts, and happenings of the various realms of Mutha Oith. Join intrepid gadabout Toucanacondor Flaminguez as he tours Keister Island. You’ll explore dozens of locales, meet hundreds of peeps, examine new religions, gawp in awe at wondrous magics, and run in terror from a bunsload of horrifying monstrosities. Here you’ll investigate the Fundamental nature of all things, dabble in smellcasting at the Garden of Smellemental Glee, chug suds with Floom’s elite, and marvel at the bottomless Keister of Gawd. There’s new Holy Crap, new Edges and Hindrances, New PC species, new setting rules, and twenty pages of new monsters. Seriously, stop reading the back cover text and just buy the goosin’ thing already.

Just a heads up - these products are primarily funded through Kickstarter, yet the creator has refused to fulfill one of his original Kickstarters for the miniatures for this setting, and keeps making more Kickstarters while refusing to communicate with his original backers.

Can confirm. The author (Andy Hopp) also deletes/censors any mention of his shady tactics on any social media platform where he has control. Fortunately, he can't delete the comments on Kickstarter, so feel free to head over to the "Low Life Miniatures" campaign and see for yourself. Andy's go-to tactic there is to kick any complaints over to his "assistant" Greg, who will promptly ignore your e-mail. Over 7 years late and counting...

Oh, and heads up. Andy's been spamming social media again with teases of a new Kickstarter. He claims the pandemic is effecting his ability to deliver the miniatures, yet he somehow he has the time to not only prepare a new product for fundraising, but also spams Facebook with pictures of how he's out and about, not being effected by the pandemic and spending those ill-gotten Kickstarter dollars. What a guy!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
