THIRD EDITION REVISED!

Bulletproof Blues Third Edition (Revised) is an easy to play superhero roleplaying game set in the world-famous universe of Kalos Comics -- creators of Paragon, Rook, Antiope, Doctor Arcane, and the rest of the Justifiers. Your character will face sinister organizations like Aegis and GORGON, and interact with mysterious entities like Chthyra and Master Sin. From the ancient ruins of Lemuria to the far reaches of the Hausdorff Dimension, the Kalos Universe is now yours to explore.

This revised third edition of Bulletproof Blues makes character creation simpler and combat even faster. Have fun!

Note: The softcover print versions of Bulletproof Blues are available for sale. The "Premium Color" costs about twice as much to print than the "Standard Color". The "Premium Color" paper is smoother and whiter, and the colors are just slightly more vibrant. You will have to decide whether that is worth the extra cost.

Bulletproof Blues is a Kalos Mechanism game.

125 in third edition. Frankly, I would like to trim that down to about half that, but there are just so many super powers!

Where in the 3rd edition rule book does it say how much Skills, Gifts, and Powers cost in Character Points?

OK I figured it out from the character examples. Skills are 1 point each for trained, 2 points for expertise. Gifts and Powers are 1 point each.

Attribute costs are on page 56, in the Attributes chapter. Skill costs are given in the first paragraph of the Skills chapter, on page 62:

"Skills cost one character point each. Expertise in a skill costs an additional character point."

Gift costs are given in the first paragraph of the Gifts chapter, on page 70:

"Each gift costs one character point."

Power costs are given in the first paragraph of the Powers chapter, on page 78:

"Each power costs one character point."

After reading the 3rd edition book cover to cover I just don't understand why Super-Brawn and Super-Agility don't add their Power Level to combat rolls. It's practically impossible for a super strong character to damage an enemy with the Damage Resistance power when the contested roll goes like this:

Attacker rolls 2d6 + Close Combat (Brawn) while the Defender rolls 2d6 + Close Combat (Brawn + Powet Level). Seems incredibly unbalanced. Did I misread something?

For combat, you want the Strike power or the Blast power.

Any plans for a print-on-demand version of the Third Edition?

Yes, absolutely. As with previous editions, the cost will be as close to the actual printing cost as we can make it. I don't have a date for that, yet, though. The current unpleasantness is causing havoc with our schedules.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
